Some of the businesses on Main Street in Falmouth can open with restrictions starting May 25th.

Gov. Charlie Bakerannounced today that the Massachusetts economy will be reopened using a four-phase approach, based on public health guidance

Each phase will last a minimum of three weeks and could last longer before moving to the next phase.

Phase 1 May 18th opening details:

  • Places of worship to open with guidelines and outdoor services encouraged.
  • Businesses to open with restrictions, some capacity limitations and a staggered start. Those include: essential business, manufacturing, and construction.
  • Hospitals and community health centers—upon "attestation can provide high priority preventative care, pediatric care and treatment for high risk patients and conditions."

Phase 1 May 25th opening details:

  • Lab space, office space, limited personal services including: hair, pet grooming, car washes. Also retail including remote fulfilment and curbside pickup.
  • Beaches, parks, drive-in theaters, some athletic fields and courts, many outdoor activities, most fishing, hunting and boating, outdoor gardens, zoos, reserves and public installations.

The stay at home advisory now becomes a safer at home advisory. Masks are still required when you can’t maintain 6 feet of social distancing.

Governor Baker emphasized that those who are at high risk should work from home if possible, that gatherings of more than 10 people not be allowed, and urged all travelers to Massachusetts to self-quarantine for 14 days.

Lodging is still restricted to essential workers only.
