Pollinators

Xerces Society / Jennifer Hopwood

Insect pollinators such as honey bees are in decline worldwide. This has impacts for the global food supply and the ecosystem. We discuss why pollinators are declining, and efforts to stabilize and bring back populations. We also talk about native plants that support pollinators, and guidelines for lawn and garden care to minimize harm to insect pollinators.

Guests on the program are:

Mace Vaughan, Co-Director of the Pollinator Conservation and Agricultural Biodiversity Program at the Xerceds Society for Invertebrate Conservation

Larry Dapsis, Entomologist and Tick project coordinator at the Barnstable County Cooperative Extension.
