Remembering The Holocaust

Mindy Todd interviews Tom Duggan, the actor and playwright starring in Weisenthal, a one-man show that unfolds like a spy thriller, telling the story of Simon Wiesenthal, who after cheating death at the hands of Hitler’s dreaded S.S., spent his life bringing justice to the most notorious criminals in war history. The show will be at the Zieterion in New Bedford on Thursday, April 16, at 8PM.

Also in this broadcast of The Point, we revisit an interview from 2012 with editors Joseph Thomas and Marsha McCabe from Spinner Publications who produced Branded on My Arm and In My Soul: A Holocaust Memoir by Abraham Landau. The protagonist spent five years in labor and concentration camps throughout the Reich. He emerged from the nightmare a man of faith and endurance, his spirit still alive after surviving death marches, starvation, beatings  and brutal transports in cattle cars crisscrossing Europe. Starting anew in the United States, Abe rebuilt his life as a tailor, cantor, activist and founder of the Holocaust Memorial in New Bedford.
