The Truth About Animals

J. Junker

Humans are fascinated by animals, and we’ve long sought to understand their life cycles and behaviors. Despite our interest, we also have a long history of developing bizarre theories to explain what we don’t understand about animals, misinterpreting animal behaviors, and allowing centuries old myths to influence our thinking about specific species.

Lucy Cooke is a zoologist and filmmaker who has written a new book setting the record straight on 13 of the most misunderstood animals. In doing so, she also highlights why getting it right will ultimately serve us, and animals, better.  The book is entitled The Truth about Animals, Stoned Sloths, Lovelorn Hippos and other Tales from the Wild Side of WildlifeMindy Todd hosts this interview on The Point.
