This Week on Beacon Hill

The Massachusetts Senate passed its version of a criminal justice reform bill on a vote of 27-10 early Friday morning, after 14 hours of debate.

The legislation would, among other things, repeal mandatory minimum prison sentences for several drug-dealing crimes, legalize sex between young teens close in age and raise the age of criminal responsibility from 18 to 19 which would be the highest in the nation.

WCAI's Kathryn Eident talked with station State House reporter Mike Deehan for more details on this sweeping piece of legislation.
