Poetry Sunday: Al Starkey

Al Starkey reads his poem, "When the Bow Breaks."

Al Starkey is a past winner of The Atlanta Review’s International poetry competition, a winner of the International Library of Poetry’s Open Poetry Contest and a recipient of The Carriage House Poetry Prize of Tiferet Journal in 2016.  His poetry has appeared in several journals and magazines over the past 20 years. It has also been exhibited, published and/or heard in Cape Cod art galleries and museums, The Cape Cod Times and aired on NPR’s Poetry Sunday. His latest book of poems is Whistling Underwater, published in 2018.  Al and his wife, Susan, have lived in Ireland and Colorado before settling in the village of Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts in 2015.
