When news of a starfish die-off on the west coast hit the news over a year ago, some pointed their fingers at climate change or even radiation from Fukushima. For the record, the latter is definitely not the culprit.
Scientists say it’s a disease that’s affecting as many as twenty kinds of starfish, and not only in the Pacific. Here in New England, the common starfish is suffering the same fate. Amy Kolb Noyes has our story on efforts to track down the cause.
