Strange Fish: Why We're Seeing More Unexpected Catches

A white marlin off Provincetown, a sailfish in the Cape Cod Canal. A red drum in Buzzards Bay, tarpon off Nantucket. If it seems like reports of exotic catches are on the rise, it may be because they are.

Captain Bobby Rice, of Reel Deal Charters, out of Truro, recently caught the white marlin shown above—not exactly what you expect when you're fishing off of Provincetown.

This week on The Fishing News, Kevin Blinkoff of On The Water magazine lays out three reasons why we may be hearing about unexpected catches in increasing numbers.
